You Could Be Driving the Future Next Year | Best Cars of CES 2025
The auto industry gets real at CES 2025, evolving concepts and technologies and setting realistic production goals. That may not sound exciting, but it means you could hit the road with all of these cars and tech as early as next year.
Today we’re rounding up some of the coolest cars and car technologies at CES 2025. Now we’ve been covering this show obsessively for days now, and I’m a little exhausted. Are you exhausted? Of course not. You’re at home, and that’s why we’re here to bring you these cool technologies, and we’re gonna start with something a bit more pragmatic. The BMW panoramic IDrive with operating system X certainly wins the award for the longest, most German sounding name. Now, essentially what BMW is showcasing is their next generation dashboard technology. It’s got a three tier. Display system with a main display an ultra wide panoramic screen that goes from pillar to pillar and a holographic 3D head up display up on the windshield. Now that panoramic display is the most interesting part because you can control it and customize it to show all sorts of information while you’re on the road. And of course it’s CES, so there’s an AI assistant built into it to help you navigate this seemingly complicated system and the complicated roads. At the other end of the wild concept spectrum is the Xan Aero HT. This vehicle looks. Sort of like a cyber truck has been hitting the Vegas buffets a bit too hard, but inside of its angular shell, it hides an electronic vertical takeoff and landing aircraft or EV toll. The idea is that you’ll be able to drive this hybrid SUV out into the wilderness, park, pop the trunk, and slide out a little aircraft that you can hop in and whip around in the sky and have a good time. Now the interesting thing is that Xan says that they’ve already been testing this thing in China and they expect to sell it as early as next year in that market for around $300,000. Too rich for your. Well you can always hit the great outdoors with the Pebble flow. This electric assisted camper uses a battery pack that could be recharged by plugging in or with solar panels on the roof to assist with towing, so it actually feels lighter when you’re hauling with it. I was able to test this thing outside of the show so you can check out our video to see what my thoughts were on that. Next up is the Sony Honda Mobility offilo One. This electric vehicle has been at CES a couple of times now, but this year the big news is that they opened up the order books right here at the show. So if you want an electric vehicle with the soul of a place. 5 Pro. Well, you can get your hands on one with a $200 deposit on their website. And finally, the most interesting vehicles at CES today are the Honda Zero concepts. This year they rolled out a prototype version of the concepts that they had last year, so they’re closer to being production ready, and they look a lot more like what you’d see in your driveway, which is crazy when you look at that Xero saloon. Along with the Zero EVs, they’ve also announced a new Aimo operating system in the dashboard named after their robot mascot. It’s a dashboard that learns. Things about you and becomes your friend as you drive. Is that something you want in your car? I don’t know. It sounds kind of cool. But the interesting thing is that Honda has announced that they are actually going to start building both of these EVs next year at their Ohio plant. So if they look anything like this, 2026 is going to be a crazy year for electric cars.
