Will Trent opened with a high-stakes case, and while some people would like to think the case was closed, Will has other ideas.
In Will Trent Season 3 Episode 1, Will and Faith found a video of Rafael Wexford’s daughter, Sunny, with tape on her mouth.
The spoilers for Will Trent Season 3 Episode 2 tease that the GBI and Marion Alba work together to save Sunny while uncovering dark secrets that show how corrupt their law enforcement has become.
Could this be the case that shows Will why he’s needed in Atlanta?
In addition, Angie faces the board and pleads her case to be allowed to rejoin the police force.
She seems sidelined as a security officer, so hopefully, she’ll be a cop again soon.
The Race is on to Find Sunny
For the GBI and Marion to rescue Sunny, they need answers from Rafael, but he’s terrified of her captors hurting her if he talks.
He was ready to confess to killing a cop to protect his daughter, so it may be challenging to get much assistance from him.
From the weekly promo and the Will Trent Season 3 trailer, the conclusion of this case looks intense as Faith and Will enter a home and find evidence of Sunny’s abduction.
Other footage shows how terrified the teen seems, and we’re confident Will and the team will do everything possible to return her to his friend.
It also appears that Faith and Will find themselves in danger as they rush to rescue the teen.
Assuming they survive, could this be the catalyst to repair their relationship? We’ve missed their friendship.
Be Careful Who You Trust Because There is a Rat on the Force
As the GBI team works on the case, some dark secrets are revealed, and they won’t know who to trust as their preconceived notions about law enforcement are shattered.
This is especially hard for Will to process since he became an agent to help people and thought cops were law-abiding citizens, while Faith and Amanda have dealt with dirty cops before.
Marion Alba had already suspected corruption since Chester Flynn contacted her about his department, but then he was murdered before he could make an accusation.
That made it easier for the department to pin the murder on Rafael Wexford, a known gang leader, but as evidence mounts, it seems there may be a dirty cop in the midst.
No one wants to think a colleague could be responsible for murdering one of their own or kidnapping a young girl, and the GBI would need to use caution when discussing the case.
Marion could even lose her job if the wrong person didn’t like that she kept the case open instead of just arresting Rafael Wexford.
Can the GBI and Marion Alba prove their case and catch the real killer before they become the following targets?
Will and Marion Alba Make a Good Team Questioning a Suspect
After their initial meeting, Will and Marion Alba seem to make a good team.
While Will is more rigid, she’s more spontaneous and, sometimes, reads the room, and the suspect works. However, you can’t always have a strategy.
We’re unsure how this male suspect is connected, but he might have been the accomplice since Marion claims his fingerprints were on the murder weapon.
She tries to appeal to him by showing him Sunny’s photo and asking him to help them, but like most suspects, he’s not interested and defiant.
It’s very amusing how Marion and Will walk outside and begin conversing about Betty, leaving the suspect to stew with his thoughts.
Something must change his mind because suddenly, he’s eager to share Intel with them.
Generally, Will has more of a plan, so seeing him improvise will be entertaining. I think Gina Rodriguez fans will enjoy seeing her and Ramon banter with one another.
Angie Pleads Her Case to the Disciplinary Board
Even after only one episode, I’m tired of Angie having only a few scenes and being segregated from everyone else.
Hopefully, when she pleads her case to the board, she’ll return to the force soon and interact with more of the team.
It has to be challenging for Angie. While she regrets that many other men died, she initially believed she was protecting Crystal from the same perpetrator who attacked her years ago.
Angie has always protected victims who couldn’t speak for themselves, and she believed she did that again. But her act caused more harm than good and was blurred by her own trauma.
The board may not care about the reasons, but only if she can remain objective and professional in the future.
Can Angie change that much and promise that?
This is an ideal second half to the Will Trent Season 3 premiere, with more action-packed drama and character-rich arcs.
Over to you, Will Trent Fanatics. Who do you suspect framed Rafael Wexford and kidnapped his daughter?
How soon do you think Angie will rejoin the force?
