AMD will be hosting its CES 2025 keynote in just a few hours, unveiling its new line including RDNA 4, Ryzen 9000 desktop & laptop CPUs, & more.

AMD To Kick Off CES 2025 Keynote With Loads of Announcements Including RDNA 4, Ryzen 9000 Dekstop/Laptop CPUs & More

The red team plans to go all in on consumer and gamer-centric product announcements at their upcoming CES 2025 keynote. The keynote will be hosted on the 6th of January and will also focus on other segments such as commercial and AI platforms, but gamers will not be left out.

AMD’s CES 2025 will include several major gaming products, including a much-awaited software innovation. These will consist of the Radeon RX 9000 “RDNA 4” GPUs, the Ryzen 9 9000X3D “Zen 5” CPUs and several other products.

The AMD Radeon RX 9000 GPUs will be based on the new RDNA 4 architecture and feature two SKUs, the high-end Navi 48 and the entry-level Navi 44. These GPUs will take on the mainstream segment and be priced competitively against existing and upcoming products from the competition.

Recently, there have been leaks about the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT, which is going to be the top variant within the lineup, and several more models have also been pointed out. The AMD Radeon RX 9000 family will include both desktop and laptop variants, but there will also be a few refreshes based on the RDNA 3 architecture (for mobility) and RDNA 3.5 will be adopted by the Ryzen AI Max “Strix Halo” APUs.

Moving over to the CPU side, AMD’s Ryzen 9000 3D V-Cache family will see new additions in the form of the Ryzen 9 9950X3D “16-Core” and Ryzen 9 9900X3D “12-Core” parts. These chips will further improve performance by offering a mix of strong gaming potential and huge multithreaded capabilities.

AMD is still going to adopt the same cache structure for its dual CCD dies with one CCD integrating the 3D V-Cache stack while the other goes for the higher-frequency route. Reports suggest that these CPUs will not feature any clock regression versus the existing Ryzen 9000X parts.

Besides the two new product families, AMD will also introduce its next-generation FSR 4 technology, which is highly anticipated. The technology has already been teased & will utilize machine learning for better image quality and frame generation.

Currently, NVIDIA and Intel both feature AI-powered upscaling for their respective GPUs, while AMD utilizes machine learning to assist in the upscaling process on its FSR3 software. The shift to a proper AI-based system will result in AMD boasting the quality of its upscaling technology rapidly while also allowing developers some assistance in terms of game/engine support.

With that said, AMD’s CES 2025 announcements are also going to feature new mobility launches such as the aforementioned Ryzen AI Max “Strix Halo” family along with the next-gen Fire Range “Zen 5 HX” CPUs. Expect the company to also showcase its Ryzen Z2 line of handheld SoCs, which will go on to power the next iteration of gaming devices. So stay tuned as we are just a few weeks away from CES.

Which announcement are you looking forward to the most from AMD’s CES 2025 keynote?
